MENA Is Important In Dmexco’s Aim To Be An Int’l Forum: Frank Schneider

As the dmexco 2017 edition comes to a close, the organizers of the forum are taking a closer look at the aspects that will help it achieve the next level of growth. In that plan, the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region would be playing a critical role.

Recognizing that the forum’s focus on digital transformation and preparing for a digital economy are some of the key segments for MENA as well, dmexco is looking to increase participation of companies from the region.

We would definitely be doing more of our satellite events in the region,” said Frank Schneider, the co-founder of dmexco. Mr Schneider indicated that he is headed to Abu Dhabi and Dubai later in the year to get a closer at these markets.

“We want to get a better sense of what we can do there. Also our partners, Koelnmesse, would be involved in the Expo 2020 event. They would be doing some events there and we are looking at how we can be part of that as well,” Mr Schneider said.

dmexco’s way forward is to focus on its endeavor to be an international forum. Mr Schneider expects the first level of that change to be reflective in the conference agenda of the forum.

“The challenge for us is going to be about identifying the right routes to be international. The first step in that would be attract visitors from MENA in the conference since that is an international exchange of ideas rather than actual transactions.

dmexco 2018 is scheduled for September 12-13, 2018 in Cologne in Germany.
